What can Bits of Good do for you?
As you prepare for future careers and explore applications of computing, Bits of Good is a great way to gain experience leveraging your computational skills while also serving your community. You will get to interact with nonprofit groups that need your help to advance their missions through technology.
What is expected from you?
Communication and collaboration are key to design successful projects! You will work in teams of 4-5 members with a single project manager. The project manager will be vital in communicating with the Bits of Good executive board as well as the nonprofit representatives. Team members should have some background experience in the platform base (Android, iOS, or web) of the project they are working on.
How long do projects last?
Project managers will work with nonprofit representatives to outline a deliverable that can be completed within the scope of the semester. If additional requests are made, the project will be continued into the next semester and a new deliverable will be determined.
How can you get involved?
If this sounds like something you would like to get involved with or if you have any questions, please reach out to us at [email protected] to begin the conversation. The official Fall 2017 application will be released on August 21st. Fill out the Bits of Good interest form to be emailed when the application is released.
